GOOD IMPRESSION
The idea that I would have my lasik in Los Angeles came as a surprise to both of us. But that is where we were earlier in the year looking for doctors. I just happened to like a few of them there, so we visited each office and came away with a much better impression of all the doctors there and, surprisingly, the costs were lower on the average. Maybe there was more competition. So we said that if we didn't find somebody out in Los Angeles, at least we would get a nice trip out of it and see a few sights. We made the appointments and then went. I was just glad to be in a warmer climate for a while. I was so tired of snow and cold and gray skies. Tara visited with a girlhood friend of hers, Cyndi. She hadn't seen Cyndi for probably thirty years of better, since they were girls. Tara went out to dinner with her one night, after meeting Cyndi's family. I was content just to hang around the hotel and take in some TV. Tomorrow would be a busy day. We were scheduled to see three different doctors for consultation. This was the tedious part. Waiting in the waiting rooms. But at least it was nothing like the waiting room situation back home, with that doctor who had patients literally taking numbers like they were at a deli counter.
