TOO MANY BILLS TO PAY
My best friend and next-door neighbor since we were seven, David, recently told me that he is going to be moving to Canada in a few weeks. His family had accumulated far too many bills to pay off over the years and decided that filing bankruptcy would be the best thing to do. After that was done, they were going to move to Toronto, Canada and start with a clean slate. David’s father has already been accepted to a new job in Toronto, but his mother is still waiting for the company that she applied for to call her back and ask to schedule an interview. It’s a shame that David is moving away. I have been friends with him for so long. Maybe I will go visit him in Canada sometime; or he can come back here to Illinois and visit all of our friends. I hope that whoever moves into his house has kids my age. David is the only kid who lives on my block and I don’t have a car yet, so I can’t drive to hang out with other friends. Maybe some day David’s parents will get bored of Canada, or decide that filing bankruptcy there would be a good idea, and come back to Illinois.
